Who is responsible for data collection on this website?
Data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator. You can find their contact details in the “Information about the responsible body” section of this privacy policy.
How do we collect your information?
On the one hand, your data is collected when you provide it to us. This could be data that you enter in a contact form, for example.
Other data is collected automatically or with your consent when you visit the website by our IT systems. This is primarily technical data (e.g. Internet browser, operating system or time of page access). This data is collected automatically as soon as you enter this website.
What do we use your data for?
Some of the data is collected to ensure error-free provision of the website. Other data can be used to analyze your user behavior. If contracts can be concluded or initiated via the website, the data provided will also be processed for contract offers, orders or other order inquiries.
What are your rights with regard to your data?
You have the right to receive information about the origin, recipient and purpose of your stored personal data free of charge at any time. You also have the right to request that this data be corrected or deleted. If you have given your consent to data processing, you can withdraw this consent at any time for the future. You also have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted under certain circumstances. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
You can contact us at any time about this and if you have any further questions about data protection.
Analytical tools and tools from third parties
When you visit this website, your surfing behavior can be statistically evaluated. This is done primarily with so-called analysis programs. Detailed information about these analysis programs can be found in the following privacy policy.
2. Hosting
We host the content of our website with the following provider:
Webflow
The provider is Webflow, Inc., 398 11th Street, 2nd Floor, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA (hereinafter Webflow). When you visit our website, Webflow collects various log files, including your IP addresses.
Webflow is a tool for building and hosting websites. Webflow stores cookies or other recognition technologies that are necessary to display the page, to provide certain website functions and to ensure security (necessary cookies).
The website is delivered via Cloudflare’s network. Cloudflare sets the technically necessary cookie “_cfuvid”. It is only stored for the duration of your visit and is used to tell apart requests from individual visitors when defending against overload and abuse.
For details, see Webflow's privacy policy:
https://webflow.com/legal/eu-privacy-policy.
Webflow is used on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. We have a legitimate interest in presenting our website as reliably as possible. If a corresponding consent has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO and § 25 para. 1 TDDDG, insofar as consent is given to the storage of cookies or access to information on the user's device (e.g. device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TDDDG
comprises. The consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Data transmission to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://webflow.com/legal/eu-privacy-policy.
The company is certified in accordance with the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” (DPF). The DPF is an agreement between the European Union and the USA, which is intended to ensure compliance with European data protection standards when processing data in the USA. Every company certified under the DPF undertakes to comply with these data protection standards. For more information, please contact the provider at the following link: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/participant/6365.
Order processing
We have concluded an order processing contract (AVV) to use the above service. This is a contract required by data protection law, which ensures that it only processes the personal data of our website visitors in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.
External libraries: jsDelivr
For some functions of our website we load program libraries via the content delivery network jsDelivr, for example for image carousels and for the filters and pagination in the blog overview. The operator is Volentio JSD Limited, Suite 2a1, Northside House, Mount Pleasant, Barnet, EN4 9EB, United Kingdom.
When you open such a page, your browser loads the libraries from servers of the network. In doing so, your IP address, information about your browser, the requested address and the domain of the referring page are transmitted to the operator and the network providers it uses. jsDelivr does not set cookies.
The operator is based in the United Kingdom, for which an adequacy decision of the EU Commission applies. Delivery runs through network providers that also operate servers outside the EEA.
The libraries are used on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in a fast and reliable presentation of our website. For details, see jsDelivr’s privacy policy: https://www.jsdelivr.com/terms/privacy-policy.

Unless a specific storage period has been specified in this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for data processing no longer applies. If you make a legitimate request for deletion or withdraw your consent to data processing, your data will be deleted unless we have any other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g. retention periods under tax or commercial law); in the latter case, the deletion will take place after these reasons cease to apply.
General information on the legal basis of data processing on this website
If you have consented to data processing, we process your personal data on the basis of Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR or Article 9 (2) (a) GDPR, provided that special categories of data are processed in accordance with Article 9 (1) GDPR. In the event of express consent to the transfer of personal data to third countries, data processing is also carried out on the basis of Article 49 (1) (a) GDPR. If you have consented to the storage of cookies or access to information on your device (e.g. via device fingerprinting), data processing is also carried out on the basis of Section 25 (1) TDDDG. The consent can be withdrawn at any time. If your data is necessary to fulfill a contract or to carry out pre-contractual measures, we process your data on the basis of Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR. We also process your data insofar as it is necessary to fulfill a legal obligation on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c DSGVO. Data processing may also be carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The following paragraphs of this privacy policy provide information on the relevant legal bases in each individual case.
Recipients of personal data
As part of our business activities, we work together with various external agencies. In some cases, this also requires the transfer of personal data to these external bodies. We only transfer personal data to external parties if this is necessary as part of contract performance, if we are legally obliged to do so (e.g. transfer of data to tax authorities), if we have a legitimate interest in the transfer of data in accordance with Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR, or if another legal basis allows the transfer of data. When using contract processors, we only share our customers' personal data on the basis of a valid contract for order processing. In the case of joint processing, a joint processing contract is concluded.
Withdrawal of your consent to data processing
Many data processing processes are only possible with your express consent. You can withdraw consent that you have already given at any time. The legality of the data processing carried out up to the time of revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.
Right to object to data collection in special cases and against direct marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)
If data processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. e or f GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation; this also applies to profiling based on these provisions. The respective legal basis on which processing is based can be found in this privacy policy. If you file an objection, we will no longer process your personal data concerned, unless we can prove compelling legitimate grounds for processing that outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims (objection under article 21 (1) GDPR). If your personal data is processed for direct marketing purposes, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you for the purpose of such advertising; this also applies to profiling, insofar as it is associated with such direct marketing. If you object, your personal data will then no longer be used for direct marketing purposes (objection in accordance with article 21 (2) GDPR).
Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority
In the event of violations of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement. The right to lodge a complaint is without prejudice to other administrative or judicial remedies. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Landesbeauftragter für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Mecklenburg-Vorpommern), Werderstraße 74a, 19055 Schwerin, Germany.
Right to data portability
You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfillment of a contract handed over to yourself or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another person responsible, this will only be done insofar as it is technically feasible.
Information, correction and deletion
Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have the right to receive information free of charge about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of data processing and, if applicable, a right to correct or delete this data. You can contact us at any time for this and for further questions on the subject of personal data.
Right to restrict processing
You have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted.
You can contact us for this at any time. The right to restrict processing exists in
in the following cases:
- If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we usually need time to verify this. For the duration of the audit, you have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted.
- If the processing of your personal data was/happens unlawfully, you can request the restriction of data processing as a result of deletion.
- If we no longer need your personal data, but you need it to exercise, defend or assert legal claims, you have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted instead of deletion.
- If you have filed an objection in accordance with Article 21 (1) GDPR, a balance must be made between your interests and ours. As long as it is not yet clear whose interests prevail, you have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted.
If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data — apart from storage — may only be processed with your consent or to assert, exercise or defend legal claims or to protect the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of an important public interest of the European Union or a Member State.
SSL or TLS encryption
This site uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or inquiries that you send to us as the site operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection when the browser's address line changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock icon in your browser line. If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data that you submit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Objection to promotional emails
The use of contact data published as part of the legal notice obligation to send unsolicited advertising and information material is hereby rejected. The operators of the sites expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited sending of advertising information, such as spam emails.
4. Data collection on this website
cookies
Our websites use so-called “cookies.” Cookies are small data packets and do not cause any damage to your device. They are stored on your device either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies). Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Permanent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or until they are automatically deleted by your web browser.
Cookies can come from us (first-party cookies) or from third-party companies (so-called third-party cookies). Third-party cookies make it possible to integrate certain services from third-party companies within websites (e.g. cookies to process payment services).
Cookies have various functions. Numerous cookies are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them (e.g. the shopping cart function or the display of videos). Other cookies can be used to evaluate user behavior or for advertising purposes.
Cookies that are necessary to carry out the electronic communication process, to provide certain functions requested by you (e.g. for the shopping cart function) or to optimize the website (e.g. cookies to measure the web audience) (necessary cookies) are stored on the basis of Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR, unless another legal basis is provided. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing necessary cookies for the technically error-free and optimized provision of its services. If consent to the storage of cookies and comparable recognition technologies has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of this consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO and § 25 para. 1 TDDDG); consent can be withdrawn at any time.
You can set your browser so that you are informed when cookies are set and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for specific cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when you close the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.
You can find out which cookies and services are used on this website in this privacy policy.
Consent with Consent Pro
Our website uses Consent Pro to obtain and document your consent to the storage of certain cookies and to the use of analytics tools. The provider is Finsweet Inc., 1001A E Harmony Rd. #15, Fort Collins, CO 80525, USA.
When you open our website, your browser loads the consent banner from the provider’s servers. Your IP address is transmitted in the process. Only when you make a choice does the banner store it in a cookie, together with a random identifier and the time. The cookie is stored for 12 months unless you delete it in your browser earlier.
So that we can prove your consent, every decision in the banner is logged: the random identifier, date and time, the domain and the page you visited, the country the provider derives from your IP address, your choice per category and the wording of the banner. The provider stores this log for 5 years with its storage provider Cloudflare in Western Europe.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Settings” button at the bottom left of every page.
The logging is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR. We are obliged to be able to prove that consent was given (Art. 7 para. 1 GDPR). Storing the cookies is permitted under Section 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG because it is strictly necessary to respect your decision.
The provider is based in the USA and is not certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We base the transfer on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. They are part of the data processing agreement that forms part of our contract with the provider.
Contact form
If you send us a request via the contact form, we process the information from the form: name, email address, phone number if you provide it, and your message. We use it to handle your request and for follow-up questions.
The form is processed by our hosting provider Webflow (see section 2). Webflow stores the request and sends us a notification to our mailbox at Microsoft (see “Inquiries by email or phone”). We do not pass on this data without your consent.
If your request is related to a contract or serves to prepare a contract, the legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR. In all other cases it is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest is answering requests addressed to us.
Your data remains with us until your request has been dealt with and there is no longer any reason to keep it. We delete entries in Webflow’s form storage no later than 6 months after receipt. Statutory retention obligations, for example for business letters, remain unaffected.
Spam protection with Cloudflare Turnstile
To protect our forms against automated entries and misuse, we use Cloudflare Turnstile. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (hereinafter Cloudflare).
Turnstile uses technical characteristics to check whether an entry comes from a human. For this purpose, Cloudflare processes, among other things, your IP address, information about your browser and operating system, and characteristics of your interaction with the page. Turnstile is loaded on all pages that contain a form. On our website this is every page, because the cookie settings also use a form. Cloudflare also uses the signals under its own responsibility to improve bot detection.
Turnstile is used on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in protecting our website and our forms against spam and automated attacks. Insofar as Turnstile reads information from your device for this purpose, this is permitted under Section 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG because it is strictly necessary to protect the forms.
Cloudflare is certified under the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” (DPF). We base the data transfer to the USA on this certification. The standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission have also been agreed. For details, see Cloudflare’s privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/ and the information on Turnstile: https://www.cloudflare.com/turnstile-privacy-policy/.
The data processing agreement with Cloudflare is part of Cloudflare’s terms.
Inquiries by email or phone
If you contact us by email or phone, we store and process your inquiry with the information you provide, such as your name, contact details and the content of your inquiry. We use it to handle your request. We do not pass on this data without your consent.
Emails are stored in our mailbox at Microsoft. The provider is Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, D18 P521, Ireland. Data may be transferred to Microsoft Corporation in the USA. Microsoft is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission have also been agreed. The data processing agreement with Microsoft is part of the contract terms.
If your request is related to a contract or serves to prepare a contract, the legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR. In all other cases it is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest is answering requests addressed to us.
Your data remains with us until your request has been dealt with and there is no longer any reason to keep it, or until you request deletion. Statutory retention obligations, for example for business letters, remain unaffected.
5. Analytics tools
Webflow Analyze and Webflow Optimize
With your consent, we use Webflow Analyze and Webflow Optimize. The provider is Webflow, Inc. (address see section 2).
Webflow Analyze evaluates how visitors use our website. This includes the pages viewed, clicks on page elements, the time spent, the source of the visit, such as a search engine or a link, device type, browser and the approximate location that Webflow derives from the IP address. On this basis, Webflow Optimize can show and compare different variants of a page. For this purpose, Webflow stores an identifier and information about your visit in your browser’s local storage and transmits the data to Webflow servers, including in the USA. Webflow does not set cookies for this.
The script is loaded when the page is opened. Without your consent, it does not perform any analysis and does not store an identifier.
It is used exclusively on the basis of your consent under Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR and Section 25 (1) TDDDG. You give it via our consent banner in the “Statistics” category and can withdraw it at any time using the “Settings” button at the bottom left of every page. Webflow does not specify a fixed storage period for this data. The identifier in local storage remains until you delete it in your browser.
Webflow is certified under the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” (DPF). We base the data transfer to the USA on this certification. The standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission have also been agreed. For details, see Webflow’s privacy policy: https://webflow.com/legal/eu-privacy-policy.
6. External content and links
Spotify
On our website you can play podcast episodes using a player from Spotify. The provider is Spotify AB, Regeringsgatan 19, 111 53 Stockholm, Sweden.
The player is not loaded when the page is opened. In its place there is a notice with a “Load player” button. Only when you click it does your browser connect to Spotify’s servers. Spotify then receives your IP address and the information that you have visited our page, and may set cookies. If you are logged in to Spotify, Spotify can assign the visit to your account. Spotify may also process data outside the EEA. We do not store your decision. On your next visit, the player is again only loaded after a click. Alternatively, you can open the episode directly on Spotify via a link.
The player is used on the basis of your consent under Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR and Section 25 (1) TDDDG, which you give by clicking “Load player”. It applies only to this page view. For details, see Spotify’s privacy policy: https://www.spotify.com/legal/privacy-policy/.
Links to LinkedIn and Google Maps
Our website contains simple links to our company page on LinkedIn and to our location on Google Maps. We do not embed plugins from LinkedIn or Google. No data is transmitted to LinkedIn or Google when you open our pages. Only when you click a link are you taken to the respective provider’s page, where its privacy policy applies.
7. Our company page on LinkedIn
We operate a company page on LinkedIn. The provider is LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland (hereinafter LinkedIn).
When you visit our LinkedIn page, follow it or interact with posts, LinkedIn processes your data according to its own terms: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy. Data may also be transferred to LinkedIn Corporation in the USA. LinkedIn Corporation is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
LinkedIn provides us with statistics about the visitors to our page (“Page Insights”). We only receive aggregated figures, for example on industries, professional experience or regions of the visitors, and no information about individuals. We are jointly responsible with LinkedIn for this processing (Art. 26 GDPR). The essentials of the agreement with LinkedIn:
- LinkedIn assumes the GDPR obligations for this processing, in particular informing data subjects, implementing your rights and ensuring data security.
- The easiest way to exercise your rights is via your LinkedIn account or directly with LinkedIn. You can also contact us. We will then forward your request to LinkedIn within three working days.
- The lead supervisory authority is the Irish Data Protection Commission.
The agreement itself is available at https://legal.linkedin.com/pages-joint-controller-addendum. It can only be accessed with a LinkedIn account.
The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to present our company on LinkedIn and to get in touch with interested parties.
8. File upload for customer documents
Upload page
If you are interested in our products and services, in particular OMNIBUS, you can send us photos of machines, completed questionnaires and other documents such as manuals, wiring diagrams or screenshots via an upload page. You get access via a QR code or link on our questionnaires or directly from us. Using it is voluntary. You can also send us the documents by email.
What data we process
- The name you enter when opening the upload page, for example company and contact person.
- The uploaded files with their content and metadata. Depending on the device, photos contain the time of capture, the device type and possibly the location. Screenshots may show user names.
- Names and roles of contact persons at your company or your service providers, if you enter them in questionnaires.
- Your IP address, the time of access and information about your browser and operating system in the log files of the servers involved.
Please do not photograph people. If we notice identifiable people in a photo, we delete the photo or make the people unrecognizable.
Purpose and legal basis
We use the documents to answer your request, to assess how your machines can be connected and to prepare an offer. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, the performance of pre-contractual measures at your request. If you act on behalf of a company, we process your contact details on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest is processing your company’s request. This also applies to contact persons you name in questionnaires: we use their details to reach the right people with follow-up questions. We receive these details from you, not from the persons themselves. Please point these persons to this privacy policy. We process the log data on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR to ensure the operation and security of the servers.
Storage location and recipients
The upload page runs on the Nextcloud software on our own server in our premises in Rostock. The server’s internet connection is provided by the University of Rostock. It only forwards the encrypted connection and has no access to the content. The transmission is TLS-encrypted. Other users of the upload page cannot see your files. We also store encrypted backup copies of the server with Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, in data centers in the EU. Hetzner has no access to the content.
An automatic email to our mailbox at Microsoft (see section 4) informs us about new uploads. It contains the name you entered and the file names. To send it, we use the SMTP2GO service of Sand Dune Mail Ltd, Christchurch, New Zealand. An adequacy decision of the EU Commission applies to New Zealand. We do not pass on the data otherwise.
Cookies and storage in your browser
The upload page sets technically necessary cookies: two for the duration of the session and two persistent ones that protect against forged requests and contain no personal data. The name you entered and a random identifier are stored in your browser’s local storage so that you do not have to enter the name again for another upload. The legal basis is Section 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG. You can delete this data at any time in your browser settings.
Storage period
We transfer the files to our project archive and then delete them from the upload page, no later than 30 days after the upload. We keep them in the project archive as long as we are processing your request or carrying out a resulting project. If no order results, we delete the documents after 12 months unless you request deletion earlier. Statutory retention obligations remain unaffected. Deleted files usually remain in the encrypted backup copies of the server for up to two more months. We only use these copies to restore the server after a failure. We only store log data as long as necessary for the secure operation of the servers and then delete it automatically.
Redirect via Cloudflare
The address on our questionnaires (upload.adaept.de) is a redirect to the upload page. The provider of this redirect is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (hereinafter Cloudflare). When you open the address, Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical information about the request, such as browser and time, and redirects you to the upload page. The upload page itself and the uploaded files do not pass through Cloudflare.
Cloudflare is used on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in a short, permanently valid address on printed documents whose target we can change without reprinting the documents.
Cloudflare is certified under the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” (DPF). We base the data transfer to the USA on this certification. The standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission have also been agreed. For details, see Cloudflare’s privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.
Order processing
The data processing agreement with Cloudflare is part of Cloudflare’s terms. It ensures that Cloudflare only processes personal data in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.
